What is LASIK?

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a modern laser vision correction procedure that helps reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses. During the procedure, a thin corneal flap is created, and an excimer laser reshapes the cornea to improve how light focuses on the retina, resulting in clearer vision.

Your LASIK Treatment Journey

The Day of Treatment

LASIK is a quick outpatient procedure that usually takes 10–15 minutes for both eyes. Before treatment, anesthetic eye drops are applied to ensure comfort. A thin corneal flap is created and gently lifted, allowing the laser to reshape the underlying corneal tissue. The flap is then repositioned naturally without stitches. Most patients experience improved vision within a few hours.

Day 1: Vision is often noticeably clearer, though mild dryness, glare, or halos may occur.

Week 1: Most patients return to normal daily activities with significantly improved vision.

1 Month: Vision continues to stabilize, and symptoms such as dryness gradually improve.

3–6 Months: Full healing is typically achieved, with stable and clear vision for most patients.

Wavefront-guided LASIK uses advanced mapping technology to create a detailed 3D image of your eye. This allows treatment to be customized to your unique visual imperfections, helping improve visual quality, reduce glare and halos, and provide sharper vision, especially in low-light conditions.
